Filming Blog- The Vast Backyard
On Wednesday, the 27th I started filming for my Gatorade commercial. I planned on going out to a field or a bigger area. I had no ride to get there so I had to settle for my backyard. My backyard is pretty big so I got lucky with than. There was one downside though, there's just to much stuff in the way. About a year or two ago we got our backyard redon. It used to be pretty open with not much stuff that could pose to be a problem. Now though we have pavers in a big area that takes up a lot of space. Also we just got a new deck that is huge and takes up half of the yard. Long story short, filming a commercial that you need to be able to have room to run around in my backyard, wasn't the easiest thing in the world. I planned on doing multiple sports throughout my commercial. I realized I jut didn't have time or space for that. So I decided on football to be the sport I use. I had to get my mom and dad to help me out with the filming process. One to hold the camera, and one to through me the football when needed. In football there are routes, this is what the receiver runs. I had to pick skinny and long routes to be able to fit in my yard the whole time. We had to take a lot of shots the get the timing right. one of the harder scenes to get right was the scene when I ran out to catch the ball. It was so hard to get the timing right to line up with the last scene. Also to get the ball to where I wanted to be able to catch it was hard. After a bunch of tries we succeeded. Another scene that was hard to get right was the last one. The commercial ends with me hitting the Gatorade bottle down and it spraying out. This was to give that refreshing feeling to it. The scene that I thought that turned out the best was me catching the football. Even though this scene took the greatest number of shots, it turned out the best in my opinion. this was a really fun project to do, especially doing it on something I love to do, play football.
