Research Blog: Commercial Conventions

 I am doing a Gatorade commercial, Gatorade is a sports drink meant to replenish energy and give you the drive you need. Gatorade is world renown and is used by huge companies and corporations. Including the NFL, the NBA, and just about every sport. If it has to do with physical exercise and getting tiered, Gatorade is going to bee used side by side with it. In these commercials they will usually have the actors play some sort of sport that is high intensity. These would be very similar to other sport commercials. For example, Nike would have a lot of the same features. Like the high intensity and use of sports. An element that is special to Gatorade is the ending. At the end of most of their commercials they smack the Gatorade bottle down with condensation formed all over it. When this happens all the water falls off in slow motions, which is used a lot in Gatorade commercials, and creates a refreshing and eye catching scene. Also another word to describe these commercials would be bold. with the fast past and energetic music in the background it really gets you exited and energized just by watching the commercial. This is very effective by showing that they can even make you feel energized without drinking their product yet. This is probably why their product does so well. Advertisement is a key part in distributing your item. Since the company is so successful they can get high end actors and athletes to be in their commercials. This gets them even more views in their commercial. When people see their favorite athletes they pay attention to it more. Maybe even aspire to be them and want Gatorade more. These are all aspects that Gatorade uses for their commercials.

Final Task: More Info

  Schedule March 2nd - I will start finalizing all my plans and ideas for filming and let my film crew know I will start soon. March 4th - I will start filming the beginning scenes that I only need to set my phone up somewhere. For example scenes like the beginning scenes that the credits will flow over. March 7th - I will finish up the filming that I can do alone and start to focus on the bigger scenes and shots. My parents and siblings will be the film crew that will help me here and there.  March 12th-15th - During this time I plan on finishing up most of the filming that I need to do. There will be some scenes that I want to switch out and redo, so this will not be the last time filming.  March 16th - I will start to upload all my shots and clips to OpenShot. This is my editing soft where that I will be using.  March 18th - After uploading all of my shots, I will look at all of my shots to see if they are good or not. Redo of Previous Shots

 Today I was able to go over to Sonalis after school for a while. I couldnt stay over forever so we decided to look over and see what we could do. We looks over our shots up to this point to see what could be changed. After looking through it we decided that today would be a redo day. A day put to retaking shots that we weren't happy with. Looking through the film we actually noticed that there were a lot of scenes that we wanted to redo. These were all random scenes so it was harder than you think. We had to make sure we were in the same outfits as before. We had to make sure it was around the same time of day. We also had to go to different settings for the film. We first filmed the scenes that took place at her house. There were a few scenes that the dialogue wasn't to our liking. Next, we went to the park to refilm a few scenes.
