Reflection Questions

1. In this project most people had a group or someone to help out with the work. I didn't though, all of the ideas came from me. I bet a lot of other students have done Gatorade commercials in the past. But I don't think they went to the extent I have. I played every part in this commercial. I had to make do with what equipment I had and the space I had. I could not go to a field or any parks to have more room. As well as me having to do all the physical stuff as well too. In all the shots I took when I was creating the scenes where I had to run a football route, it got very tiering. On the positive note my project may be different because of the transitions, I also really like the background music I added to it.

2. My product engages with the audience with the music mostly. The background music adds so much to this project I think without it, it  would not be very good at all. listening to music I think is a calming and Happy place. It can also be energetic or get you exited. Music can make people feel emotions. I believe this would be distributed as media on television of course. It would come on after a sport activity, for example football, soccer, basketball, baseball or a lot others. It could also be on normal channels. 

3. This project was different from my other filming project. It consisted of small fast clips over long slow clips. I learned how to transition much better then from before. As well as cut the clips to go together smoother. Most of the element that I used I learned from my previous project. Some smaller things I learned during this project include slow motion, adding text, and adding in background music. These are all important things to know when creating a commercial. My favorite element has to be the slow motion. It adds a lot of effect to the commercial, and emphasizes scenes.

4. I used the editing soft where that was provided to me by my teachers. This works very well and is free. I had to use the same app to import the videos from my phone to my computer. I expected it to work this time since it is a much smaller video, but it still didn't want to work. When filming I wish I had a little bit better camera. The one I was using didn't have the best quality, it got the job done though. Other than that everything else (my computer) worked great. This was a really good project to work on and I enjoyed it.

Final Task: More Info

  Schedule March 2nd - I will start finalizing all my plans and ideas for filming and let my film crew know I will start soon. March 4th - I will start filming the beginning scenes that I only need to set my phone up somewhere. For example scenes like the beginning scenes that the credits will flow over. March 7th - I will finish up the filming that I can do alone and start to focus on the bigger scenes and shots. My parents and siblings will be the film crew that will help me here and there.  March 12th-15th - During this time I plan on finishing up most of the filming that I need to do. There will be some scenes that I want to switch out and redo, so this will not be the last time filming.  March 16th - I will start to upload all my shots and clips to OpenShot. This is my editing soft where that I will be using.  March 18th - After uploading all of my shots, I will look at all of my shots to see if they are good or not. Genre Choice for Film

  After going through our pitches and thinking what the best genre would be, my partner and I have decided to go with the Drama option. The pitch for our short film best fits under the drama genre.  Due to our short film being about an abusive relationship, the acting will have to be very emotional and realistic which falls under drama.  We have started planning out how we are going to go through with the filming. There are a number of camera angles and movements that can be used for this genre that can help make our film more intriguing to the audience.  We can use pan movement as I am yelling and hitting to help show the setting as a whole.  Another example is, we can use high and low angles to show the gender power struggle in the short film.  On another topic, drama films don't include 0 much costumes, props, or makeup which makes it easier for my partner and I.  This allows us to focus more on camera techniques and acting.  We will still use ...
