Research Blog: Music Video Conventions

 Conventions of a song can vary from many different things. From the theme of the song, as well as the mood and setting. This song is one you would imagine listening to driving down a straight rode with a starry sky. Or when your relaxing in your room with colorful LED lights flashing starring at your ceiling. It is one of my favorite songs for a reason. It makes you feel so relaxed and chill. Id say it isn't like normal songs, it has a different feel to it. This song has more of a dark setting to it. This is only because of how slow and relaxed it is. Compared to a song that's energetic and rowdy would have a bright setting to it. This is going to be a hard video to make. Not a lot comes to mind what to film about when thinking about this song. I know one things for sure, its going to be slow going and chill. I might do an angle where I put the camera on my fan going really slow around my room. I would be laying down on my bed mouthing the words out. There isn't many things I could do. I would definitely do a track shot following me somehow. I will be having my parents video me again. They aren't the best film crew, but with me as the director I can make it work out. During this thanksgiving break I'm going up to Boston and New York. It might snow up there so if I can it would be great to be able to film in it. It might not go with the song to well but its better than anything I might be able to do in Florida. Imagine a scene with me standing under a street light with snow coming down. Thinking about it now that would be an awesome opportunity. I hope I am able to go through with it.

Film day #2 Part 1

 Today is our second day of filming for this project. We had planned to get some extra work done today. First things first I had to get ready for Sonalis house. All I had to do was get changed, grab cloths, and get over there. After gathering everything up I headed over to Sonalis to get to work. When I got to Sonalis we started to discuss what we had to do. We had a few different ideas what to start with. We decided to start with some of our long takes. These were takes that were hard to follow the script for. so for most of these we improvised what we were saying but still staying on the topic. A long take in my opinion is one that was more than 30 seconds. We had a good amount of these scenes. The reason for so many long takes is because of how long our film was. If we had only small scenes it would make it a lot harder to meet our time requirement. These long shots were  actually pretty fun in my opinion. Final Task: More Info

  Schedule March 2nd - I will start finalizing all my plans and ideas for filming and let my film crew know I will start soon. March 4th - I will start filming the beginning scenes that I only need to set my phone up somewhere. For example scenes like the beginning scenes that the credits will flow over. March 7th - I will finish up the filming that I can do alone and start to focus on the bigger scenes and shots. My parents and siblings will be the film crew that will help me here and there.  March 12th-15th - During this time I plan on finishing up most of the filming that I need to do. There will be some scenes that I want to switch out and redo, so this will not be the last time filming.  March 16th - I will start to upload all my shots and clips to OpenShot. This is my editing soft where that I will be using.  March 18th - After uploading all of my shots, I will look at all of my shots to see if they are good or not.
