Genre Research: Survival

 I decided to choose the survival genre for this project. I have always loved this genre, especially in books. I think the only reason I read books when I was younger is because of these survival books. I'm pretty sure I re-read the entire I Survived series 3 or 4 times over. This is also going to be a genre that I think will be super fun to film about. It is only the first two minutes of the film, but that is usually really good in setting up the film. They usually get to the plot of the movie fairly quick. I have some good ideas for my film. Some of them are going to be hard to film and I don't know how I will for half of them. I live on a canal so this also opens up a lot of possibilities. The big problem is definitely going to be figuring out how I'm going to film these ideas. Most likely my parents will be filming for me, or my siblings. Since I do not have a group. I will find out ways though I am pretty confident. I can already come up with a few ideas to solve this problem. A simple one being setting the camera in separate areas. There are others but ill have to test them out and see if they would work. I also have a boat, you can probably tell what I'm thinking to do with that. That idea will only make it harder to film though. I hope I can solve these problems when the time comes.

Film day #2 Part 1

 Today is our second day of filming for this project. We had planned to get some extra work done today. First things first I had to get ready for Sonalis house. All I had to do was get changed, grab cloths, and get over there. After gathering everything up I headed over to Sonalis to get to work. When I got to Sonalis we started to discuss what we had to do. We had a few different ideas what to start with. We decided to start with some of our long takes. These were takes that were hard to follow the script for. so for most of these we improvised what we were saying but still staying on the topic. A long take in my opinion is one that was more than 30 seconds. We had a good amount of these scenes. The reason for so many long takes is because of how long our film was.   Schedule March 2nd - I will start finalizing all my plans and ideas for filming and let my film crew know I will start soon. March 4th - I will start filming the beginning scenes that I only need to set my phone up somewhere. For example scenes like the beginning scenes that the credits will flow over. March 7th - I will finish up the filming that I can do alone and start to focus on the bigger scenes and shots. My parents and siblings will be the film crew that will help me here and there.  March 12th-15th - During this time I plan on finishing up most of the filming that I need to do. There will be some scenes that I want to switch out and redo, so this will not be the last time filming.  March 16th - I will start to upload all my shots and clips to OpenShot. This is my editing soft where that I will be using.  March 18th - After uploading all of my shots, I will look at all of my shots to see if they are good or not.   What titles are displayed in the opening sequences? The 20th century Fox is shown in the very beginning of the film. There is also the name that shows up after few scenes. The movie starts off at a zoo it looks like. There are a few credit scenes that show up with actors and important roles. What images are prioritized during the opening sequences? Images with animals are heavily prioritized in the beginning of the film. showing beautiful animals prancing and moving around everywhere. What connotations do these images carry? These images carry a free and fresh connotation. They have cute animals jumping around in front of the cammera. How does the film establish a feeling from the genre from the outset? The film showing a lot of wilderness may something that establishes the genre.
