The beginning of the movie starts off with kids. They are struggling in the water and one kid then saves another. Then it

shows that the movie is based off of a book. It also shows that the film is produced by Harry Hook.

Images that are prioritized during the opening are scenes that are meant to show the setting. Also scenes showing off

some of the characters in the film. This can lead to very briefly explaining the storyline.

- What connotations do these images carry?

These images carry a chaotic connotation. There are kids alone on an island that doesn't seem to have any civilization

at all. One scene shows two kids looking off into the distance while in the background we hear kids screaming and

fighting.

- How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?

The film establishes the genre because of the scenes that we see. You can tell from what is gong on, and clues to

figure out that's the genre is survival. For example that they washed dup on an uninhabitant island and there is fighting

between them.

- What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?

The use of certain scenes are used to appeal to its target audience. Scenes that include details to the movie, like them

washing up. Or even that it is based off of a book.

- How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques

Technology was used effectively in this because of the shots that were taken. Only technology could have recorded

the scenes of the beautiful island. Also to edit these scenes to flow together nicely.
