Production Blog: Cameraman Selection
In my last blog I explained how I had just finished up a few scenes from the beginning of the film. I only did a small portion. This filming was done by myself. It was a portion where I just had the camera set up on a chair. I had to mess around with the angle a bunch of times. I had tried to use a stool on top of one of my family room chairs. That didn't work out how I wanted it to so I scrapped that idea. I even ended up trying to use a big ladder from outside. I still couldn't get a good shot from there because there was no way to keep my phone at the angle I wanted. I asked my dad what he thought, so we started to brainstorm. We came with the idea to use a nearby counter. And I know what your thinking, why couldn't he just hold the phone. Well my parents and sister are going on a trip to go look at colleges over spring break. So there are going to be gone for quite a long time. I cant let this time to go to waste so I had to get some filming done. This was my only option right now. I had to get some filming done by myself. Back to the camera angle problem, we came up with the idea to use a nearby counter and we put a small stool on it with a makeshift back stand. This gave me a pretty good angle. It was a little bit further away then I planned but it worked out.
