Intro Blog #2

I cant believe its already been a year since I started this class. There are so many differences that I've noticed already compared to last year. The first huge obvious difference would be in person learning. Last year it was strictly at home learning off of a small computer screen. I enjoy being in person so much more than just on the computer. I really struggled with motivation with completing anything last year. Being in person definitely helps me with motivation, time management, and my social life as well. Seeing all my friends again is really refreshing. It betters my mood, and with a better mood everything increases as well. Not only has my mood changed but I'm also really exited to see all the new things that we are gonna be learning. The curriculum is similar but definitely not the same. This year is going to be more individual I'm guessing. I think there is going to be more blogs as well as a lot more filming to be done. Our final project is a 5 minute short film that we need to do. This is a lot longer than any other film I've made. In fact it is actually 2.5 times longer than any other film I've created. One thing that I'm not ready for is the editing that's going to need to be done. Editing the 2 minute film last year took the longest out of every other process. I enjoy editing but I always second guess and end up redoing something multiple times. I'm very exited for what this year is going to bring, and I hope I enjoy it at much as last year.

Film day #2 Part 1

 Today is our second day of filming for this project. We had planned to get some extra work done today. First things first I had to get ready for Sonalis house. All I had to do was get changed, grab cloths, and get over there. After gathering everything up I headed over to Sonalis to get to work. When I got to Sonalis we started to discuss what we had to do. We had a few different ideas what to start with. We decided to start with some of our long takes. These were takes that were hard to follow the script for. so for most of these we improvised what we were saying but still staying on the topic. A long take in my opinion is one that was more than 30 seconds. We had a good amount of these scenes. The reason for so many long takes is because of how long our film was. If we had only small scenes it would make it a lot harder to meet our time requirement. These long shots were  actually pretty fun in my opinion.   Schedule March 2nd - I will start finalizing all my plans and ideas for filming and let my film crew know I will start soon. March 4th - I will start filming the beginning scenes that I only need to set my phone up somewhere. For example scenes like the beginning scenes that the credits will flow over. March 7th - I will finish up the filming that I can do alone and start to focus on the bigger scenes and shots. My parents and siblings will be the film crew that will help me here and there.  March 12th-15th - During this time I plan on finishing up most of the filming that I need to do. There will be some scenes that I want to switch out and redo, so this will not be the last time filming.  March 16th - I will start to upload all my shots and clips to OpenShot. This is my editing soft where that I will be using.  March 18th - After uploading all of my shots, I will look at all of my shots to see if they are good or not.   What titles are displayed in the opening sequences? The 20th century Fox is shown in the very beginning of the film. There is also the name that shows up after few scenes. The movie starts off at a zoo it looks like. There are a few credit scenes that show up with actors and important roles. What images are prioritized during the opening sequences? Images with animals are heavily prioritized in the beginning of the film. showing beautiful animals prancing and moving around everywhere. What connotations do these images carry? These images carry a free and fresh connotation. They have cute animals jumping around in front of the cammera. How does the film establish a feeling from the genre from the outset?
