Film Day #2 Part 2

We were able to film the phone scene yesterday.  This scene is going to be edited to be a split screen so the conversation has to flow into each other.  To start, we had to create a work-like environment for me to be at.  To do this we emptied a table and put it in a corner in Sonalis kitchen. We then put a computer, tape, and a paper tray on the table in order to make it look like I was in the office. Sonali then sat on the couch in her living room. I wanted to actually have the conversation in order for us to respond to each other at the right times.  The distance between Sonali and I was pretty far so there wouldn't have been a problem with hearing our voice on the other side. Since we only had three phones with us that day, we had to figure out how to film both Sonali and I at the same time.  I remembered that I had my old broken phone in my room and went to go look for it.  After looking for like 5 minutes I found it in one of my drawers.  I used the old phone, Sonali used her phone, and we used my phone and Alexa's phone to film.  Since Alexa was the only person filming for us, we ended up using Sonalis tripod to help us out.  Alexa filmed me while Sonali was being filmed with the tripod.  Considering the fact I could only stay for about an hour and a half, we got a lot done.  Once I left, I was very anxious to see how I was going to do this split screen.  I used a split screen last year in my opening sequence but I forgot how to do it.  Once I looked it up I remembered right away and did it within a couple of seconds.  Once I put them into a split screen, I cut and adjusted the clips until the were in sync.  I really enjoyed the end result of the split screen technique.
